The 5th Legislative Year of the 28th Term of the Turkish Grand National Assembly has Begun

The 5th legislative year of the 28th term of the Turkish Grand National Assembly has started. The first ceremony to mark the start of the new legislative year was held at the Atatürk Monument.

Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Numan Kurtulmuş, Minister of Internal Affairs Mustafa Çiftçi, New Party Chairman Özgür Özel, Deputy Speakers of the Parliament Celal Adan, Tekin Bingöl, AK Party Group Chairman Abdullah Güler, group deputy chairmen and MPs attended the ceremony. After Kurtulmuş laid a wreath at the monument, a moment of silence was observed and the National Anthem was sung.

FIRST WORKSHOP IS ON OCTOBER 6th

The traditional reception given by the parliamentary speakers for the opening of the legislative year will be hosted by Kurtulmuş at the GNAT Ceremony Hall at 18.30.

At the opening of the legislative year, no visitors will be admitted to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, except for those who are invited by state protocol.

The General Assembly will hold its first session of the new legislative year on October 6.

A MONITORING COMMISSION TOWARDS THE GOAL OF A TERRORIST-FREE Türkiye WILL BE ESTABLISHED

In the new term, a monitoring commission will be established in the Parliament towards the goal of a Terror-Free Türkiye. Deputies from each political party will take part in the commission in proportion to the number of seats in the Parliament. The steps taken towards the process will be under the supervision of the political establishment through the commission. The Commission will be able to make recommendation decisions when necessary.

RED CRESCENT LAW PROPOSAL IS ON THE AGENDA OF THE ASSEMBLY

The first topic of the General Assembly will be the bill regarding the Turkish Red Crescent, whose commission phase was completed last term but could not be discussed due to busy schedule. With the proposal, the duties and powers of the Hilal-i Ahmer will be regulated by an independent law for the first time. Strategic products needed in disasters and emergencies can be procured from Red Crescent subsidiaries without any tender.
