Qualified fraud operation in 8 provinces based in Tekirdağ: 9 arrests

According to the information obtained, a 68-year-old citizen in Şarköy, with the guidance of the suspects who identified themselves as police, military or public prosecutors, handed over the jewelry and currency in his residence to the suspects in order to catch the criminals. The citizen filed a complaint, declaring that he suffered financial losses worth approximately 19 million TL through this method.

Under the coordination of Şarköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Tekirdağ Police Department Public Order Branch Directorate teams started working on the incident. As a result of the technical and physical follow-up carried out by the teams, the identities and addresses of the suspects were determined.

SIMULTANEOUS OPERATIONS IN 8 PROVINCES

Following the studies, a simultaneous operation was organized in Istanbul, Izmir, Manisa, Şanlıurfa, Erzurum, Adıyaman, Kahramanmaraş and Mersin on September 29, 2026. During the operations, 11 suspects who were considered to be related to the victimization of citizens were caught and detained.

9 SUSPECTS WERE ARRESTED

2 of the 11 suspects who were referred to the judicial authorities after their procedures at the police station were released on condition of judicial control. The other 9 suspects were arrested and handed over to the penal institution for the crimes of "Organized Qualified Fraud, Qualified Looting, Establishing, Managing and Being a Member of a Criminal Organization".
