Electric Vehicle and Hyperloop Competitions Continue at TEKNOFEST 2026, Minister Kacır: Breaking New Records Every Year

"International Electric Vehicle Competitions and Hyperloop Development Competition" organized within the scope of TEKNOFEST 2026 continues at TÜBİTAK Gebze Campus.

Kacır, who watched the races and chatted with the participants, told the journalists that TEKNOFEST is a garage model unique to Türkiye, unique in the world, where young people transform their dreams into research projects and their projects into technology initiatives. Stating that today they are talking about thousands of technology initiatives born from TEKNOFESTs, Kacır stated that these initiatives have achieved very successful products, services and value-added results in their fields.

"TEKNOFEST REFRESHS ITS OWN RECORD EVERY YEAR"

Stating that electric vehicle competitions are very compatible with Türkiye's goals, especially in mobility technologies, Kacır stated that the transformation in the automotive sector in mobility has accelerated with innovative energy applications and said, "Battery vehicles, electric vehicles, hydrogen vehicles will shape the automotive industry of the future. While Turkey exists in this field with its national projects, TOGG, on the other hand, it offers the opportunity with TEKNOFESTs for its young people to understand these technologies more effectively and to establish teams that develop technology in this field. The teams here have achieved their achievements in this field." "With their experiences, they later take on important roles in the industry and ultimately make significant contributions to Türkiye's National Technology Move journey." he said.

Congratulating all the young people who showed their excitement throughout this process, Kacır said, "More than 1 million 600 thousand young people participated in TEKNOFEST competitions this year. As such, TEKNOFEST continues to renew its own record and set new records every year." he said.

Minister Kacır stated that there are 61 different competitions and more than 150 competitions in sub-categories within the scope of TEKNOFEST and concluded his words as follows:

"We are organizing the competition finals in different provinces of Türkiye. Now we are in the TUBITAK Marmara Research Center campus in Kocaeli, but not only here, but also in all of our southeastern provinces, we are actually experiencing and sharing this excitement in different geographies of Türkiye with the rocket competition in Aksaray and the unmanned aerial vehicle competition in Malatya. I would like to thank our Turkey Technology Team Foundation, Mr. Selçuk Bayraktar, who pioneered this excitement, his entire team, all our stakeholders, more than 100 TEKNOFEST is coming to life with many stakeholders, I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart. I would also like to express my gratitude to our Esteemed President for his leadership that instills self-confidence and courage in the Turkish youth who participate in TEKNOFESTs every year."

Kacır chatted with the participating students and took a souvenir photo and signed some of the vehicles participating in the race. Minister Kacır was accompanied by Kocaeli Governor İlhami Aktaş, TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Orhan Aydın was accompanied by Bilişim Vadisi General Manager Erkam Tüzgen and Marmara Teknokent General Manager Mehmet Ali Okur.
