Earthquake in Indonesia: 13 tourists from Bologna in Labuan Bajo, situation under control

At the moment the seismic activity is continuing in the North, but we have moved further to the West, fortunately here the situation is more protected. Now we are in the hotel, in Labuan Bajo, the Italian embassy recommended it to us. The tremors continue but the tsunami risk seems to have passed. It's night here, so we'll be monitoring all the sites. The speaker is the entrepreneur Francesco Geminiani, who together with 12 other tourists from Bologna is on the island of Flores, in Indonesia, where on the eve of August 15th an earthquake measuring 7.7 on the Richter scale occurred. "Our hotel suffered some cracks, but nothing serious, it's quite safe. The planes to Italy are clearly all full for tomorrow, even the embassy tried to look for a place, but couldn't find it. Instead, we found a plane tomorrow at 6pm that takes us to Bali. First we should get to Java and then from there we go to Bali, where the situation seems much calmer." Geminiani and the other Bolognese people were on a boat in the Komodo archipelago when the first tremor struck. "We were on the boat and this morning at 4 and there was this earthquake. At 5.30 the guides who were with us warned us of the Tsunami alert, which had just been issued. At that point we reached the shore in the nearest village and from there we took a vehicle which then took us higher up and immediately afterwards to the airport". The entrepreneur from Bologna and the other tourists are in constant contact with the Italian embassy in Jakarta. "We will spend tonight on alert to monitor the situation."
