Analysis of Referee Decisions from TFF MHK: Critical Evaluations from Anthony Taylor

Turkish Football Federation Central Referee Board shared the Referee Decisions Analysis prepared by MHK Elite Referee Director Anthony Taylor regarding the positions selected from the Trendyol Super League and Trendyol 1st League competitions. While the selected positions were evaluated in line with technical criteria, the results were shared with the public via a video.

The positions examined and the decisions made are as follows:

GENÇLERBİRLİK - FENERBAHÇE

In the 49th minute of the match, the game continued while the yellow-dark blue team was waiting for a penalty in the position where Mert Müldür remained on the ground. In the examination made by Taylor, it was stated that Goutas intervened after Mert Müldür's head shot and that the position was not a penalty on the grounds that it did not affect the attacker's ability to shoot or head. Taylor also said that in the 71st minute of the same match, the ball that hit Goutas' hand during Talisca's shot was not a penalty on the grounds that the contact with the capital team's player's hand was minimal and that it did not prevent the ball from going to the goal or change the direction of the ball.

ALANYASPOR - BEŞİKTAŞ

It was announced that Aliti should be shown a red card because there was clear evidence that the Alanyaspor player hit Trossard's head with excessive force in the position between Aliti and Trossard in the 7th minute of the match in which Alanyaspor hosted Beşiktaş. In this position, it was also pointed out that VAR should call the referee of the match for an on-field inspection. It was also stated that in the 56th minute of the same match, Aliti's intervention was excluded from the black-whites' position where Vlahovic was down and a free kick should be given in favor of Beşiktaş. Again, in the last minutes of the same match, it was said that Vlahovic was in a position with Ümit Akdağ and both players mutually pulled each other, so the decision to continue was correct.

GALATASARAY - GÖZTEPE

Another position that MHK Elite Referee Director Anthony Taylor examined was the penalty won by Galatasaray in the 59th minute of the match hosting Göztepe. It was stated that Osimhen placed his right foot between the ball and his opponent's left foot, that although Osimhen touched the ball, the contact between the players was due to the movement of the attacker rather than the defender, that the legs touched each other to some extent, but there was no real tripping violation, and that the offensive player exaggerated the contact. Taylor stated that the position was not a penalty.

AMED SPORTS ACTIVITIES - TRABZONSPOR

In the match where Amedspor hosted Trabzonspor, Sor sent the ball into the net after Diagne's penalty shot returned from goalkeeper Onana in the 45+5th minute. However, it was stated that the ball going into the net should not be valid because Sor was in the penalty area when Diagne took the penalty shot.
