TMF President Vefa: Motocross Races were Designed 9 Years Ago, 88 Athletes Will Participate

Turkish Motorcycle Federation (TMF) President Mehmet Sadık Vefa told the AA correspondent that the event to be held today and tomorrow was designed 9 years ago.

Explaining that the organization has grown over time with the support of the local people, Vefa said that this situation makes them very happy.

Mehmet Sadık Vefa stated that 88 athletes will compete this year and said:

"We have 3 Turkish athletes, 1 of whom is a woman. The world's best in motocross will compete here. I hope these racers will inspire young people and set an example. As the Turkish Motorcycle Federation, we work to do better and offer better every year. The quality of the race is already clear. Foreigners are very happy to stay here in terms of ground, facility and service. There is also the sports tourism sector. We hear that the hotels in the region are full, in fact, I observed yesterday that there is no room. This is also different for us. It was a source of joy."

"We especially recommend athletes to compete in a gentlemanly manner."

Pointing out that there are people who come to the organization with their caravans, Vefa said, "They also come with their tents. All kinds of environments are available. Young people said that they shop for special clothes before coming here. This also contributes to the economy." he said.

Mehmet Sadık Vefa, who wished that the races would be accident-free, said, "They are really very gentlemen and present an image that is completely befitting of their athlete identity. It should be like that. Although we would like to thank the families for introducing their children to sports, we especially recommend the athletes to compete in a gentlemanly manner." he said.
