Toyota releases new Japanese-spec Crown Sedan, adds HEV G entry-level model, lowers entry barrier

Toyota has recently upgraded and updated the Crown family. Following the Crown Crossover crossover coupe and Crown Sport sports car, the Crown Sedan, the successor of the orthodox Crown sedan, has also followed up with upgrades. The biggest highlight is the addition of the HEV G petrol-electric entry-level option. The local price is 6.4999 million yen (approximately NT$1.315 million). By lowering the entry threshold, more people can experience the unique charm of the orthodox Crown sedan. The new Crown Sedan will be officially launched in Japan on September 21.

The upgrade of the new Crown Sedan this time focuses on adding the HEV G entry-level model, mainly by adjusting the appearance and interior equipment content to lower the entry barrier. For example, the standard 20-inch multi-spoke aluminum wheels of the HEV Z model have been revised down to 19-inch configuration, and the seat material has been adjusted from genuine leather to synthetic leather, in exchange for a more affordable price.

In addition, the Z model, which is the top choice of the car series, will include the Black Package as standard equipment, which can enhance the dynamic momentum, and provide an optional 13.2-inch OLED rear seat screen to enhance the luxurious riding experience for rear seat buyers.

The new Crown Sedan still offers two power options: 2.5-liter Hybrid gasoline-electric hybrid and FCEV hydrogen fuel cell. The former can provide a combined horsepower output of 245 horses and an average fuel consumption of 18.0 to 18.3 km/L. The latter is equipped with a 128kW hydrogen fuel cell and three hydrogen storage tanks with a total capacity of 141 liters, and can provide 182 horses, 30.6 An electric motor with a kilogram-meter power output is responsible for driving the vehicle. It only takes 3 minutes to complete the hydrogenation operation and has a maximum cruising range of 820 kilometers.
