Ho Chi Minh City installed a canopy connecting the bus station with the metro station

For nearly 2 months now, Ho Chi Minh City has deployed a canopy connecting the bus station with the metro station at Ben Thanh and Thao Dien stations. This is to connect means of transport transporting many passengers when the city implements free bus tickets from the beginning of July. The weather in the city is hot and rainy, affecting pedestrians.

The canopy at Ben Thanh station (left corner) has been in use for nearly a week now. This walkway is located in September 23 Park, leading passengers directly to the bus pick-up point and the largest underground station entrances on the metro line.

Along with the roof, a new bus shelter was also installed on the sidewalk of Pham Ngu Lao Street.

The waiting room is about 12 meters long, for large transit points, with integrated route information LCD screens, LED lights, night identification panels, security cameras and USB and Type-C charging ports.

The closed design helps passengers from the underground station to catch the bus conveniently, without being affected by rain or sun.

Besides the key area of ​​Ben Thanh, Van Thanh Park, An Phu, Rach Chiec, Thu Duc, National University stations... are also equipped with waiting rooms and sidewalks for passenger convenience. In the photo is a new model of waiting room installed at An Phu station.

Ho Chi Minh City currently offers free tickets for 134 bus routes to encourage people to use public transportation and reduce travel costs. The city also improved the quality of vehicles, yards, stops, waiting rooms and transfer points, especially the area connected to the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro.
