Tragedy on S3. A motorcyclist is dead, his wife was taken to hospital

On Friday around 17, on the Lower Silesian section of the S3 expressway, near the Polkowice Południe junction, a motorcyclist had a tragic accident.

Press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Polkowice, junior asp. Magdalena Wiaderek said in an interview with RMF24.pl that a 52-year-old man - a resident of Greater Poland - was riding a Harley with his wife.

He was traveling in the left lane, for unknown reasons he veered into the green belt and hit energy-absorbing barriers, the policewoman said.

Unfortunately, the man died. His wife was transported to hospital with injuries.

Police officers are working at the scene. The General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways informed that two lanes towards Legnica are blocked and passage is only possible in the right lane.
