Three politicians are charged with misconduct after the LVU scandal

In autumn 2020, three children were taken into care in Älvsbyn after they told about violence and sexual abuse in the home. Three years later, the municipality sent out a press release and apologized to the parents. The Social Committee overturned the decision - and allowed the children to move home.

Afterwards, DN was able to reveal serious flaws in the investigation behind the decision.

For example, the municipality had not allowed the children to speak - and missed that the children's father was being investigated by the police, suspected of serious child pornography offences.

Älvsbyn's municipality has received strong criticism, including from the Inspectorate for Care and Care, which reviewed the case.

Now three municipal politicians are being prosecuted for having made decisions on incorrect grounds.
