TRE-RR denies registration of Clébio Genuíno's candidacy for the government of Roraima

The Regional Electoral Court of Roraima (TRE-RR) unanimously denied the candidacy registration of federal public servant Glébio Genuíno (PCO) for the government of Roraima in the 2026 General Elections. The decision is still subject to appeal.

The request for registration of the ticket was judged on September 4th. The rapporteur of the case, judge Fernando Pinheiro dos Santos, pointed out that the candidate did not present the 1st and 2nd degree criminal certificates from the State Court required for electoral purposes.

Clébio attached a certificate from the Court of Justice of Roraima (TJRR), a document different from that required by electoral legislation.

Furthermore, Glébio did not present proof that he had removed himself from his duties as a public servant within the disqualification period. Disincompatibility is the temporary or definitive removal from the position or function occupied by some people who intend to contest an election.

The candidate's defense filed an appeal against the decision on Monday (7), but the request has not yet been analyzed. On DivulgaCand, the Electoral Justice platform, his candidacy status is listed as "Rejected within the appeal period or with an appeal".

On Tuesday (8), the Electoral Court also confirmed the resignation of the candidate for vice-governor on the ticket, José Gregório Rodrigues Pereira.

Clébio Genuíno was confirmed as a candidate for the Workers' Cause Party (PCO) during a hybrid convention held on August 5. The party contests the election without a coalition. Clébio declared that he had no assets to the Electoral Court and is running for political office for the first time.
