Triple crime on Isla Cristina: Security forces search for two hooded men

The coastal town of Isla Cristina (Huelva) woke up this Monday armored by the security forces who are still on the trail of two hooded men who escaped after perpetrating a triple crime - a 62-year-old woman, her pregnant daughter and a 16-year-old minor, who was passing by -, which has also left one seriously injured. The alleged perpetrators of the shooting fled the scene on a motorcycle and then set fire to the vehicle in a nearby pine forest.

"The alarm in the town is very great," said the mayor of the municipality, Jenaro Orta, in an interview with Canal Sur, in which he described the scene after the crime as "dangerous." In addition to the three bodies lying on the ground, Orta recalled that there were "an awful lot of shell casings" around them. The investigation is under summary secrecy, so the security forces have asked to be "very cautious" in relation to the information that is transferred.

However, everything points, according to the first mayor, to a possible settling of accounts between two families for the murder in 2024 of a man in the Torrejón neighborhood, in the capital Huelva. The alleged murderers tried to mislead the security forces by burning the motorcycle from which they fired the burst of shots that killed the three people in some pine forests near the town. "They wanted to distract us," said Genaro Orta, who is confident that there will be no reprisals in the coming hours and days. "I hope the waters return to their channel."

Confrontation between two families Regarding the images spread on social networks, the mayor of Isla Cristina has described them as "very bad taste." "Neither the family nor Isla Cristina deserve something like this," he noted. This triple crime has been linked to that of September 10, 2024, when one person died and two others were injured to varying degrees in the El Torrejón neighborhood, in the capital Huelva.
