Trump declares Iran war will end immediately after US midterm elections

US President Donald Trump on Tuesday said the Iran war will end "immediately" after the upcoming US midterm elections later this year. Speaking to reporters, MAGA supremo Trump said, "I think the war will end immediately after the election... They're desperate to try and affect the election so that we could get a nice, weak group of people in there and leave them alone and let them have their nuclear weapon. " He also reflected on the latest American strikes on Iran under Mojtaba Khamenei's leadership, saying, "We've knocked out nine of their ships; I would say that the attacks are caused by us — and you're going to see a lot more. We've taken our about nine of their tankers. Many of them are gone-zo." In its overnight offensive against Iran, the US launched strikes on Iranian oil tankers after the IRGC targeted US naval warships earlier this week. However, Tehran also fiercely retaliated, with multiple explosions seen over an American airbase in Jordan. Trump started the war as a high-ambition project against the Khamenei-led Islamic Republic to curb Tehran's nuclear aspirations. He launched the first strikes as part of Operation Epic Fury in partnership with Israel, led by Benjamin Netanyahu, on February 28. The strikes on day one killed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
