Trump's special representatives in Kiev: Peace proposal was discussed with Zelensky

Trump's special representative Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner discussed the peace proposal in the file with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenski.

The duo, who met with Putin for 3 hours and 10 minutes in Moscow on Saturday evening, flew to Poland by private plane at midnight without sharing the slightest detail about this contact. The US team reached Rzeszow, Poland, in the morning and departed for Kiev by train. Witkoff and Kushner, who set foot at the Kiev train station for the first time yesterday at noon, were welcomed on the platform by the Head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office Kiril Budanov, the Chairman of the ruling Servant of the People party group David Arahaniye and the Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine Rustem Umarov.

When the delegation reached the center of Kyiv, President Volodymyr Zelensky joined the group and greeted the guests. Thanking US President Trump for sending his special representatives to Kiev for the first time despite security concerns, Zelenski said, "I know you had to make a tiring train journey. In fact, Kiev airport was ready to accept your plane. But the Russian side does not allow us to use our airspace. They keep hitting our airports."

HE LISTED THREE CONDITIONS

Before meeting with Trump's representatives, the Ukrainian leader gathered his staff in the morning and held a situation assessment meeting. Summarizing what Ukraine expects from all these negotiations, Zelenski noted that Ukraine has three basic expectations so that it can breathe easy. "The first is to silence the weapons," said Zelenski, "The second is to give clear security guarantees to Ukraine. The third is to prepare a logical road map for a fair end to the war."

RESULTS LATER

While the first two rounds of the Zelenski - Witkoff - Kushner meeting lasted 5 hours, it was stated that a third round meeting would be held with the participation of the National Security Advisors of France, England and Germany in Kiev.

Evaluating the negotiation process, Witkoff said, "We are encouraged and ready to continue working as long as necessary," while Kushner said, "It is a very difficult process. But President Trump is working to end this war. For us, it means not only ending this war, but also giving Ukraine a chance to develop normally in permanent peace."

No statement was made from Moscow or Kiev regarding the talks. White House officials stated that the results obtained in Moscow and Kiev will be made public within a week or two after being evaluated by the United States.
