Trump signals that Iran's nuclear facilities may be attacked with the "mother of all bombs"

Trump made evaluations on Newsmax television regarding the attack allegations against Iran and the Russia-Ukraine War.

Regarding the allegations that the Department of Defense (Pentagon) is considering using the GBU-43/B bomb as part of an attack on Iran's energy infrastructure and nuclear facilities, Trump said that the weapon in question, which is claimed to be evaluating its use, is not nuclear.

When asked by program host Rob Finnerty whether the use of "tactical nuclear weapons" was among the options, Trump said: "No, not nuclear. The mother of bombs is a big bomb, but it is not nuclear." he said.

Stating that they are considering hitting the underground facility, which is said to be under construction in Iran's Pickaxe Mountain region, Trump said, "We are currently looking at Pickaxe Mountain. We may need to go there. We will try to hit it. We will destroy it quickly." he said.

Asked whether the operation in question would involve US ground troops, Trump said: "No, I do not foresee that." he replied.

Arguing that the USA had previously severely damaged Iran's nuclear infrastructure, but that withdrawing before the possibility of Tehran acquiring nuclear weapons is eliminated may require a new military operation in the future, Trump said, "We can do it. But if we do this, we may have to do it again within a year. We want Iran to never have a nuclear weapon, because I think if it has it, it will use it immediately." he said.

Emphasizing that he is confident that the war will end soon, Trump said, "The Iran war will end very soon. It will end very soon. It will end somehow. You know, they are negotiating with us. Yes. But somehow it will end very soon. The prices of oil and gasoline will fall." made his assessment.

Claiming that Iranian officials demanded that the US and Israel's military operations be stopped, Trump said, "They asked us to stop. And we are stopping because we are negotiating with them." he said.

"I'm not a big fan of Zelenskiy"

Asked whether he had lost his trust in Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, US President Trump argued that if there was to be some kind of reconciliation with Russia in Ukraine, it would not be done with Zelenskiy and said, "Zelenskiy is not a good person for us to deal with. He says he wants to compromise, but he does not want to. I am not a big fan of Zelenskiy." he said.

Trump stated that Zelenskiy recently met with Russian President Vladimir Putin and that this meeting went very badly and that Putin hated Zelenskiy and Zelenskiy hated Putin, adding, "It is very difficult to resolve something with this kind of hatred." he said.

Stating that the Russia-Ukraine War should never have started and that Ukraine was "destroyed", Trump said, "If the election in the USA (2020 Presidential Elections) had not been fraudulent, this war would never have happened." he claimed.

When asked whether the war will end before the end of his term, Trump said: "It should end soon. I think they both want it to end, but I find it more difficult to deal with Zelenskiy than Putin." he replied.

GBU-43/B bomb against Iran

CNN and CBS News had claimed that the Washington administration was considering using the GBU-43/B bomb against Iran if Trump gave the approval to resume attacks before or after the midterm elections.

In its written statement to CBS News regarding the allegations, the White House noted that Trump kept all options on the table to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.

The GBU-43/B (MOAB) bomb, weighing approximately 9,800 kilograms, is known as the largest non-nuclear bomb in the US arsenal. The bomb was used for the first time in April 2017, during Trump's first term as president, against a tunnel complex belonging to the terrorist organization ISIS in Afghanistan.
