TURKSTAT: International Service Trade Statistics for 2025 have been published

Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) published 2025 International Trade in Services Statistics data. Accordingly; Service exports amounted to 124.9 billion dollars and service imports amounted to 61.9 billion dollars.

According to international service trade statistics, while service exports were 117.3 billion dollars in 2024, it increased by 6.5% to 124.9 billion dollars in 2025. While service imports were 56.4 billion dollars in 2024, they increased by 9.6% and reached 61.9 billion dollars in 2025.

TRAVEL SERVICES TAKEN THE BIGGEST SHARE IN SERVICE EXPORTS WITH 48.1%

According to the expanded balance of payments services classification, the share of travel services in total exports was 48.0% in 2024 and 48.1% in 2025. The share of transportation services, which ranked second, was 35.1% in 2024 and 34.1% in 2025. In service exports, the "other business services" sector ranked third in 2025 with a share of 6.3%.

TRANSPORTATION SERVICES EXPORTS WILL BE 42 BILLION 571 MILLION DOLLARS IN 2025

Exports in transportation services, which have the largest share after travel services, were 41 billion 125 million dollars in 2024, and increased by 3.5% in 2025, reaching 42 billion 571 million dollars. Telecommunications, computer and information services exports increased by 25.3% in 2025 compared to the previous year, reaching 6 billion 724 million dollars.

TRANSPORTATION RANKS FIRST IN SERVICE IMPORTS WITH A 32.0% SHARE

The share of transportation in total service imports was 38.1% in 2024 and 32.0% in 2025. The share of "other business services", which ranked second, was 16.1% in 2024 and 16.9% in 2025. The travel services sector, whose share in service imports was 14.5% in 2025, ranked third.

THE MOST SERVICE TRADE (EXCLUDING TRAVEL) WAS WITH THE EUROPEAN UNION

In services other than travel services, service exports to European Union countries in 2025 were 25 billion 330 million dollars, and exports to other European countries were 9 billion 259 million dollars. In imports, it was seen that in 2025, imports from European Union countries were 24 billion 733 million dollars, and imports from other European countries were 6 billion 452 million dollars.

European Union countries became the leading country group in Türkiye's service exports and imports, excluding travel, in 2025. European Union countries were the country group with the largest share in total service exports with 37.9%. 45.3% of total service imports were made with European Union countries.

THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA TAKES THE FIRST PLACE IN SERVICE EXPORTS (EXCLUDING TRAVEL) AND IRELAND TAKES THE FIRST PLACE IN IMPORTS

31.0% of the total exports of services other than travel services were realized with the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom in 2025. In service exports, the United States ranked first with a share of 12.9% and an export of 8 billion 338 million dollars, while Germany ranked second with a share of 11.5% and the United Kingdom ranked third with a share of 6.6%.

In imports, Ireland ranked first with a share of 12.6% and 6 billion 667 million dollars in 2025, while the United Kingdom ranked second with a share of 4 billion 797 million dollars and 9.1%, and the United States ranked third with a share of 8.3% and 4 billion 378 million dollars.
