The sad loss of Turkish theater: Ethem Özbora passed away

Ethem Özbora, one of the retired decorators of the State Theaters and a veteran of Turkish theatre, passed away. The death of Özbora, who was also one of the former assistant artistic technical directors of the Istanbul State Theatre, caused great sadness in the art world.

Ethem Özbora's body was buried in Zincirlikuyu Cemetery after the funeral prayer to be performed at Zincirlikuyu Mosque following the noon prayer today.

SELÇUK METHOD ANNOUNCED THE SAD NEWS

Actor Selçuk Method shared the sad news of his classmate with whom he worked at the State Theatre. Method expressed his sadness with the following words: "We lost my dear classmate and valuable decorator Ethem Özbora, with whom we worked in many plays at the State Theatre. May God rest his soul and rest in peace. I am very sorry."

Master actress Işıl Yücesoy also shared her deep sadness with the following statements:

"It didn't happen, Ethem Özbora, it didn't happen, my beautiful brother. All the decorations of 'Orchestra', 'Dresser', 'With Your Permission', all the actors and actresses who played in your magnificent plans were left orphaned. What to do with your friendship and heart? I was orphaned too."

The General Directorate of State Theaters published a condolence message on its official social media account:

"We learned with deep sadness the death of Ethem Özbora, one of the retired decorators of the State Theaters and former assistant artistic technical director of the Istanbul State Theatre. Özbora, who devoted his years to the theater and the State Theatres, made significant contributions to our institution with the administrative responsibilities he undertook, as well as the values he added to our stage world as a decorator. We remember him with respect, love and mercy; we offer our condolences to all our colleagues and loved ones, especially his family and relatives."
