Jets cutting the sky above the pyramids, flawless maneuvers and a smoke trail left in the shape of a crescent-star... The show at the International Aviation Fair held in Egypt not only fascinated the audience, but also created a remarkable echo in the Israeli press.

El Alamein International Aviation Fair, held in El Alamein, Egypt, between 8-10 September 2026, brought together aviation and defense industry companies from different countries of the world.
Within the scope of the fair, the Turkish Air Force's aerobatic team, Turkish Stars, also performed a special show. In the demonstration carried out with NF-5A and NF-5B aircraft, the jets formed the crescent and star, the symbols of Türkiye, in the sky while flying in formations very close to each other at high speeds.
While the images attracted great attention in a short time, the Israeli press focused on the military picture beyond the show.
In Kikar's news, it was emphasized that the fair was not just an air show. The fact that more than 100 aircraft from different countries took part in the event and more than 50 air shows were planned was one of the topics that drew attention to the regional importance of the organization.
The news stated that Türkiye's participation was not limited to Turkish Stars. It was noted that important organizations of the Turkish defense industry such as Turkish Aerospace Industries, ASELSAN and MKE took part in the fair.
The Israeli press evaluated that Türkiye thus demonstrated both the operational and demonstration capabilities of its air force and the domestic defense and aviation technologies it has developed in recent years.
Kikar's news also included the large F-16 fleet owned by the Turkish Air Force. Türkiye's efforts to modernize its existing warplanes with domestic avionics, radar, electronic warfare and weapon systems were underlined.
The news also drew attention to the KAAN project, developed by Ankara as the fighter plane of the future. Designed to have low visibility, KAAN is aimed to be one of the important elements of the Turkish air force in the future with its advanced sensor fusion and interoperability capabilities with different systems.
HÜRJET, developed by Türkiye as a supersonic training and light combat aircraft, was also among the projects highlighted in the news. It was stated that at the end of August 2026, the first HÜRJET produced for the Turkish Air Force made its first flight.
One of the points that drew attention to the Israeli press was the geography where the demonstration took place.
The Pyramids of Giza are located a few hundred kilometers from Israel as the crow flies. Kikar evaluated Türkiye's visibility in Egypt as one of the indicators of Ankara's increasing presence in the military and aviation field in the Middle East.
