3 Thousand 286 Tons of Anchovy Export from Türkiye in 7 Months

Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association Fisheries Sector Committee Chairman Hasan Kuzuoğlu told the AA correspondent that 3 thousand 286 tons of anchovies were exported from Türkiye in 7 months of the year, and 10 million 888 thousand 755 dollars were earned from this export. Reminding that anchovy exports of 8 million 563 thousand 683 dollars, equivalent to 1876 tons, were realized in the same period last year, Kuzuoğlu said, "Anchovy exports from Türkiye in the 7 months of the year increased by 75 percent in quantity and 27 percent in value compared to the same period of the previous year." he said.

Kuzuoğlu stated that Belgium was the leader in anchovy exports in the January-July period and said, "Anchovy exports of 2 million 858 thousand 60 dollars from the country to Belgium were realized in this period. Belgium was followed by France with 2 million 788 thousand 198 dollars and Ukraine with 1 million 648 thousand 783 dollars. Unlike the same period of last year, exports were also made to Australia, Portugal and Qatar in this period." he said.

Emphasizing that the interest in Turkish anchovy continues, especially in the European market, Kuzuoğlu noted that they expect exports to increase in the remaining period of the year.
