While C segment cars took a 56.1 percent share of the total market with 352 thousand 589 sales, B segment cars ranked second with 177 thousand 786 sales and a 28.3 percent share.
The most preferred cars according to body types were SUV models. SUV vehicles reached 66.2 percent market share with 415 thousand 909 sales. Sedan cars ranked second with 125 thousand 20 sales and a 19.9 percent share, and hatchback models ranked third with 83 thousand 83 sales and a 13.2 percent share.
THE SHARE OF ELECTRIC CARS INCREASED TO 19.3 PERCENT
When evaluated according to fuel types, the most sold cars in the January-September period were gasoline models. Gasoline cars constituted 41.2 percent of the market with 258 thousand 453 sales.
While hybrid cars had a 32.6 percent share with 204 thousand 956 sales, electric cars reached a 19.3 percent market share with 121 thousand 79 sales. Diesel cars had a 5.5 percent share with 34 thousand 520 sales, and autogas models had a 1.4 percent share with 8 thousand 969 sales.
A different picture emerged in electric cars depending on engine power. Sales of electric cars under 160 kilowatts increased by 7.9 percent and constituted 17 percent of the total market. Sales of models over 160 kilowatts decreased by 59 percent to 2.3 percent.
SHARE OF AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION VEHICLES 97.2 PERCENT
According to engine volume, sales of cars under 1400 cc decreased by 31 percent and constituted 26.7 percent of the market. Sales of cars in the 1400-1600 cc range decreased by 16.6 percent and had a share of 20.5 percent.
Sales of cars in the 1600-2000 cc range increased by 5.5 percent, reaching 0.7 percent, and sales of cars over 2000 cc increased by 11.6 percent, reaching a share of 0.2 percent.
According to the transmission type, cars with automatic transmission came to the fore in sales. While models with automatic transmission constituted 97.2 percent of total sales with 610 thousand 177 sales, cars with manual transmission received a share of 2.8 percent with 17 thousand 800 sales.
In the light commercial vehicle market, van body type vehicles ranked first. While van models took a 76 percent share with 133 thousand 449 sales, pickup trucks ranked second with 16 thousand 508 sales and a 9.4 percent share.
TOGG REACHED THE TOP
TOGG T10X reached the top in the electric car market with 4 thousand 237 units sold last month. Renault Boreal ranked second with sales of 3 thousand 220 units, while Renault Megane Sedan ranked third with 2 thousand 830 units. Toyota Corolla ranked fourth with 2 thousand 486 sales, and TOGG T10F ranked fifth with 2 thousand 455 sales.
A total of 63 thousand 736 automobiles were sold across Türkiye in September. In addition to SUV, sedan and hatchback models, electric cars were also in the top 10 of the list.
THE TOP 10 CARS OF SEPTEMBER HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED
Renault was in the top 10 of the list with four models, TOGG with two, and Toyota, Tesla, Hyundai and Kia with one model each.
Renault Duster ranked sixth with 2,305 sales, and Renault Clio HB ranked seventh with 1,993 sales. Tesla Model Y ranked eighth with 1,725 units, Hyundai i20 ranked ninth with 1,649 sales, and Kia Sportage ranked tenth with 1,591 sales.
