Strategic Cooperation of Türkiye and Azerbaijan in Energy

Stating that the world has become a world of crises and crises are now the "new normal", Bayraktar said that in such an environment, Turkey and Azerbaijan have developed predictable, diversified and more intense cooperation in energy.

Recalling projects such as Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum Natural Gas Pipeline, TANAP and TAP, Bayraktar said, "As of this year, 100 billion cubic meters of natural gas flowed from TANAP. This line makes a great contribution to Europe's supply security." he said.

Noting that Türkiye and Azerbaijan have complementary characteristics, Bayraktar said that Azerbaijan is an important oil and natural gas producer and is now on its way to becoming an electricity producer.

Underlining that Türkiye is a growing market with increasing energy needs, Bayraktar said, "Turkey is a country that has many connections with Europe, which is also an important consumer, and therefore has the capacity and ability to export the energy here to Europe." he said.

Explaining that these features make Türkiye and Azerbaijan two countries that complement each other, Bayraktar noted that the common vision put forward by the presidents of the two countries has led to the development of appropriate projects.

It is aimed to fully utilize the capacity of existing energy projects

Bayraktar emphasized that the capacity of existing projects such as Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum, Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and TANAP should be fully utilized, and stated that 600 thousand barrels of oil flows through Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan today and the capacity of the line is 1 million barrels.

Pointing out that crude oil should be transported from other sources in Central Asia and the Turkish world on this line, Bayraktar stated that similar studies can be carried out for natural gas.

Bayraktar stated that there are very big projects ahead in the field of electricity and said, "We are talking about three main projects. These are the coming of the electricity transmission line to Turkey via Nakhchivan, the quadruple green energy corridor of Turkey-Georgia-Azerbaijan-Bulgaria and the electricity transmission line that will go to Europe under the Black Sea." gave the information.

Joint projects with Turkish states in energy and mines

Pointing out that they form a complementary whole with other Turkish states, as in the case of Turkey and Azerbaijan, Bayraktar said that Turkmenistan has significant natural gas resources and Kazakhstan has a significant oil production capacity.

Stating that these countries also have important mineral resources and mineral production, Bayraktar stated that Kazakhstan is one of the world's important uranium suppliers.

Bayraktar said, "Therefore, we are in a structure where there are large producing countries in both energy and minerals, such as Turkey, which is a very important country with a strong industry, needs mineral raw materials, has a growing demand for electricity, and has the opportunity to open up to different markets through Turkey. We will implement this synergy through joint work and realize larger projects together." he said.
