International drug trafficker İslam Yakut was caught in Istanbul

Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek announced that İslam Yakut, who is stated to be the leader of the criminal organization engaged in international drug trafficking, was caught and detained in Istanbul.

In his statement on his social media account, Gürlek stated that the operation was carried out under the coordination of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, as a result of the work of the Istanbul Police Department, MİT Directorate and the General Directorate of Security Combating Narcotic Crimes.

Minister Gürlek stated that it was determined that Yakut, who was wanted as a fugitive since 2017, continued to manage the criminal organization from his hiding places at home and abroad for a long time.

It was reported that it was determined that Yakut gave instructions to the members of the organization via encrypted communication systems called ANOM and SKY ECC.

HEROIN SHIPMENT FROM IRAN AND AFGHANISTAN TO EUROPE

Gürlek announced that it was determined that the criminal organization organized the shipment of heroin from Iran and Afghanistan to Europe and synthetic drugs from Europe to Turkey.

Noting that it was revealed that the organization was responsible for a total of 2 tons of drugs seized in Türkiye and European countries, Gürlek stated that the fight against drug barons will continue.

Gürlek said:

“As a result of the work carried out by our Istanbul Police Department, MİT Presidency and EGM Anti-Narcotics Crimes Presidency, under the coordination of our Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, İslam Yakut, the leader of the criminal organization engaged in international drug trafficking, was caught and detained in Istanbul.

It was determined that the suspect, who was wanted as a fugitive since 2017, continued to manage the criminal organization from his hiding places at home and abroad for a long time. It was determined that the suspect gave instructions to the members of the organization via ANOM and SKY ECC encrypted communication systems.

It was revealed that the criminal organization that organized the shipment of heroin from Iran and Afghanistan to Europe and synthetic drugs from Europe to our country was responsible for a total of 2 tons of drugs seized in Türkiye and European countries.

No matter where the drug barons hide, no matter what methods they try to cover up, they will not be able to escape from our state's determined pursuit and justice!
