Oil spill detected off the coast of Ra's Madraka in Oman

According to the news of Oman official agency ONA, in the statement made by the Environment Agency, it was stated that in the latest investigations in the field, it was determined that the coasts affected by pollution in the Ra's Madraka region were approximately 12 kilometers long and that intervention efforts in the region were continuing.

It was stated that there was no significant trace of oil pollution in other regions.

In the statement, it was announced that the investigations so far have revealed that the oil pollution did not reach the shores of Masirah Island, the southern part of which is within the possible impact area.

It was announced that current monitoring data and models of the offshore oil spill show that the oil slick continues to move offshore from the southeast of Masirah province, following its current route in the sea.

It was shared that the movement of the oil layer continues to be monitored according to changes in sea and weather conditions.
