Russian drone hits Ukrainian train near Polish border

A Russian drone has hit the locomotive of a Ukrainian train heading to Poland, just two kilometers from the border, although no one has been injured, the Ukrzaliznitsia railway company reported this Sunday.

The train crew was able to be warned of the threat in advance and thanks to this there were no injuries, explained the company, which did not detail whether the train was stopped or moving at the time of impact. According to the Polish news agency PAP, the train covered the Warsaw-kyiv route.

According to said media, he was returning from conversations held with his counterparts from the United Kingdom, France and Italy with the Ukrainian Government about the possible resumption of peace contacts with Russia. For his part, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister, Andrí Sibiga, stated in X that the attacks against targets close to the border represent "Putin's terror 'knocking' directly on the doors of the EU and NATO."

The Polish Foreign Minister, Radoslaw Sikorski, visiting kyiv, denounced in a press conference with Sibiga that the "bombings literally a few hundred meters from the border" are also affecting the security of Polish citizens.
