Gambian man shot dead in Latina, investigations underway

On the evening of 16 September, a young man originally from Gambia died in Latina after being hit by several gunshots in via XXIV Maggio, in the centre, fired from a moving car near the church of the Immaculate Conception. The patrols of the police flying squad of the Pontine police headquarters, the carabinieri of the provincial command and, finally, an ambulance from 118, accompanied by a medical car, which transferred the foreigner in code red to the Santa Maria Goretti hospital, where he died shortly after, intervened on the scene. Police investigations are still underway.

The investigations

The investigations began immediately with the first testimonies collected on site by the investigators. According to what was learned, the shots came from a small black car which then accelerated to move away from the crime scene. According to witnesses, there were at least two men in the car. The motive is also yet to be clarified.
