Information on external influence on Leksands IF - Sven-Olof Öst declines comment

During SVT Dalarna's and SVT Sports' review of Leksands IF, people have testified that actors outside the club were involved and influenced recruitment to the elite operations.

Sven Rosén believes that he never exerted any pressure other than formally during annual meetings and as a member of the election committee. But he is well aware that the organization is under massive pressure from the environment.

- Being CEO of Leksands IF is the most difficult job you can have in Dalarna, he says.

The reason why Leksand ended up where they are now – demoted from the SHL and in a difficult financial situation – believes Sven Rosén to be due to a lack of continuity in the board's work. In the video, Rosén elaborates on what he believes has affected the association negatively.

Rounded the board

One of the people who, according to SVT's information, belonged to the circle that influenced the club from the outside is Sven-Olof Öst. He began his hockey career as a player, then became a coach and was sports manager in Leksands IF until 2000. He was also good friends with major sponsor Per-Olof Ejendal.

In an interview with Falukuriren, the same year that Ulf Samuelsson was brought in as coach, Öst told the newspaper that it was he who on his own initiative contacted Samuelsson and then requested a meeting with the club's then CEO. Three days later, the former NHL player was presented as Leksand's new coach. "I went exactly the right way to get here a guy I firmly believed in," Öst said at the time.

When SVT talks to him today, he does not want to comment.

- I am not prepared to go in and talk about what has happened and why it has happened. Now we start from zero and aim forward.

- So I refrain from commenting, says Sven-Olof Öst.
