New Center to Easier Event Management from WhatsApp

WhatsApp adds a new central settings section that simplifies the process of creating and managing events. Now tracking activity is much more practical.

WhatsApp is working on a new event center that allows users to easily create and manage their events from a single point. This feature, which was introduced with WhatsApp beta for Android 2.26.36.5, allows all activities to be viewed on a single screen through a special section within the application settings.

Users no longer have to get lost in relevant chat history to manage an event. Additionally, with this update, WhatsApp allows users to invite even people who do not use the application to their events, making the planning process more inclusive and practical.

Events are now managed from a single page

In previous updates, the ability to create events was limited to group chats and individual messaging. However, this situation became complicated for users who wanted to track more than one activity. Users had to find the relevant chat window every time to check in on a meeting or social event they had planned. This new center developed by WhatsApp completely eliminates this problem by gathering all activities together.

Details Offered by the New Event Center

This new section, marked with an easily noticeable badge within the application settings, can list all events both created by the user and to which the user has been invited. Users can quickly enter event name, date, time, location and description information by pressing the "Create Event" button. Additionally, personalization options such as adding a WhatsApp call link or setting a custom cover photo for the event are also offered to users.

The Invitation Process Also Includes Those Who Do Not Have a WhatsApp Account

One of the most striking innovations introduced by WhatsApp was the expansion of the invitation system. When an event is created, the system automatically generates a link. When this link is shared with people who do not have a WhatsApp account, the other party can view the event details even if they do not have the application. Participants only need to enter their names and verify their phone numbers to give their approval.

Privacy and Security Standards are Maintained

Information such as date, location and participant list included in the event details can be seen by the guests and the WhatsApp system. However, in order to protect personal data, participants' phone numbers can only be seen by other participants registered in their contacts.

In addition, all individual messaging and voice calls on WhatsApp continue to be protected with end-to-end encryption, even if an event is created.

The Feature is Being Released to Users Gradually

This new feature, which is currently experienced by Android beta users, is being gradually distributed through updates published on the Google Play Store.
