Military Recruitment Centers send mobilization cards. Who gets them and what do the colors mean?

The mobilization card is issued in peacetime. This is an information document confirming that a given person has been assigned a mobilization assignment. The unit and place to which you must report immediately are indicated, but only if mobilization is announced or war breaks out.

Military Recruitment Centers are currently sending mobilization cards to Poles. As RMF FM reporter Maciej Sołtys found out, representatives of the Central Military Recruitment Center assure that the procedure is standard and carried out every year.

Who can get a mobilization card?

Mobilization cards go primarily to reserve soldiers, but they can also be received by specialists in key areas for the army, including: doctors, IT specialists and logisticians.

The cards may also go to those selected civilians who could support the army in the event of mobilization or war, for example with tasks related to energy, transport, communications or administration. Similar solutions apply to uniformed services officers.

The army sends mobilization cards to assign some people to specific tasks in advance - so that in a crisis situation there is no need to organize it from scratch.

What happens to someone who, despite providing such a card, does not appear at the appointed time and date - for example, at a military unit? If we do not appear, we may face a prison sentence of no less than three years. However, there are certain circumstances that may exclude you from this obligation.

Exceptions

The assignment may be withdrawn if a reserve soldier exceeds a certain age. The reason may also be a permanent move abroad, being deemed unfit to perform a function, or a final sentence to prison without conditional suspension.

According to the RMF FM reporter, an exception may also be a family situation - if both spouses receive such a call at the same time and they have a child under 18 years of age.

What do the colors on the mobilization card mean?

The colors of the stripes on the mobilization card indicate the type of assignment and the citizen's responsibilities in the event of mobilization or war.

A red stripe intended for passive reserve soldiers who are obliged to report for active military service in a designated unit in the event of mobilization or during war.

The green stripe, in turn, is intended for a passive reserve soldier who - as specified in the law - is appointed by means of a draft card or by way of an announcement.
