Remarkable signature on the Greece-USA line! 'It provides extra opportunities'

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a bilateral meeting with his Greek counterpart Giorgos Yerapetritis in Athens, where he came as part of the 6th round of the US-Greece Strategic Dialogue.

After the meeting, Rubio and Yerapetritis attended the opening ceremony of the renovated building of the US Embassy in Athens.

Later, Minister Rubio attended the meeting where Greek Defense Minister Nikos Dendias was also present. At the meeting, Greek Chief of General Staff Dimitrios Hupis and Florida State National Guard Commander John Haas signed the letter of intent envisaging cooperation between the two parties.

In his speech here, Dendias stated that Rubio's visit to Athens revealed the close strategic relationship between the USA and Greece.

'IT PROVIDES EXTRA OPPORTUNITIES'

Evaluating that the signed letter of intent adds an additional dimension to the cooperation between the two parties within the framework of the general reform of the Greek Armed Forces, Dendias stated that his country is looking for remedial practices in order for both the armed forces and the reserve forces to reach the desired operational level within the framework of the "2030 Agenda" of the Greek Armed Forces.

"Technology sharing, joint exercises and close communication with the Florida State National Guard give us extra opportunities," Dendias said. he said.

Rubio, on the other hand, stated that Greece has long been an ally of the USA, and that the two sides have a lot to learn from each other on issues such as earthquakes and fires, and that there are exciting opportunities between the two countries.
