A possible conflict scenario between Greece and Türkiye was reported in the press

In the news of Ta Nea newspaper, it was stated that Greek Chief of General Staff Dimitrios Houpis, in his statement in December 2025, talked about the ability to carry out "preventive attacks in the form of a strategic coup at long range".

According to the hypothetical scenario based on military analysts and sources, it has been suggested that if Türkiye mobilizes its military units during a serious crisis that may arise due to maritime jurisdictions or research activities in the Aegean, Athens may consider this as preparation for an imminent and inevitable attack.

In the scenario, it was assumed that Türkiye prepared its landing ships with fuel and war materials, and put its UAV fleets and Bora and Tayfun ballistic missiles to the highest level of readiness at forward bases.

It was stated that in the first stage of the scenario, the Greek National Intelligence Agency (EYP) will detect the mobility of the Turkish forces with the satellite data provided by the allied countries, and the Greek National Security Government Council (KYSEA) will hold an emergency meeting upon determining that the Turkish troops have received their final operation orders and the marines have started to be dispatched.

It was noted that if the intelligence turns out to be incorrect or incomplete, there is a risk that the party that carried out the first attack will be described as the aggressor in the international arena and lose diplomatic support.

In the second stage, it was claimed that Greece could try to neutralize Turkish radar and communication systems with electronic warfare systems, target runways at some air bases in Türkiye with Rafale and F-16 Viper warplanes, and hit Turkish landing elements in ports with Spike NLOS and Exocet systems.

It has been suggested that Türkiye's possible response could be missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and that at this stage, Greece's Patriot systems and the SeaFire radars of the new Kimon class frigates will come into play.

In the final stage, it was stated that the international community would step in for a ceasefire after the first 24 hours.

The news claimed that the USA, NATO and the European Union (EU) would put pressure on the parties for a ceasefire, and that Greece would sit at the negotiation table in a militarily advantageous position at this stage.
