Charges against the Chancellery of the Constitutional Tribunal

According to information provided by government spokesman Adam Szłapka and the Constitutional Tribunal, the allegations concern exceeding powers or failure to fulfill duties and violating employee rights through non-payment of remuneration. There is no official statement from the prosecutor's office on this matter yet.

In a statement published on the website of the Constitutional Tribunal, it was assessed that the allegations "are based on invented legal bases from beginning to end."

This action is another attempt to exert influence primarily on employees and the President and judges of the Constitutional Tribunal - it was emphasized.

The Constitutional Tribunal assures that the head of the Chancellery, like other employees, operates within the limits of the law.

Allowing the President of the Republic of Poland to assume the office of judge of the Constitutional Tribunal of persons who have not taken an oath before the President of the Republic of Poland would constitute a crime of exceeding his powers. Pursuant to Art. 5 of the Act on the Status of Judges of the Constitutional Tribunal, the service relationship of a judge of the Tribunal is established after taking an oath before the President of the Republic of Poland. The Director of the Constitutional Tribunal's Chancellery does not have any independent powers in this respect - we read on the Tribunal's website.
