Zcash подорожал на 20% за день, превысив отметку в 1000 долларов

The privacy-focused cryptocurrency Zcash (ZEC), which has been called the “secret Bitcoin,” rose 20 percent overnight to more than $1,000 per unit, surprising short traders. CoinDesk writes about this, indicating that over the past 24 hours, “positions on ZEC using leverage were liquidated for a total of about $36.6 million, of which $34.5 million were short positions.”

“This could further boost the already growing market, since closing a short position (short) requires repurchase of the token,” the publication notes.

In a month, the value of the token in question almost doubled, and in a year - by more than 2300 percent, that is, 24 times.

As previously reported, Zcash, which appeared in 2016, is essentially a copy of Bitcoin, but with enhanced anonymity, for which it received the said nickname. Whereas with real Bitcoin, all transactions are visible on a public ledger and can be traced back to a specific individual if desired, Zcash allows the sender, recipient, and transaction amount to be completely hidden through encryption, although it does allow the generation of “view keys” to voluntarily disclose the data to regulators or auditors.
