According to the media Axios, the two Americans will first go to the Russian capital for talks with Vladimir Putin on Saturday, then to kyiv on Sunday to meet Volodymyr Zelensky. This will be the first time that Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff will visit the Ukrainian capital. “We sent them to see if we could get things done, and there is a good chance that we will succeed,” Donald Trump said on Friday, asked from the White House about the reason for this trip. “We have an idea for peace,” added the American president without further details.
A ceasefire proposed by kyiv. Volodymyr Zelensky proposed to his Russian counterpart to respect a ceasefire for the duration of the tour of American emissaries. “There will be no airstrikes from us, and Russia must, in return, guarantee a ceasefire – without carrying out its own airstrikes – for the duration necessary to conduct these talks,” the Ukrainian president said in his speech on Friday evening.
Russian attack leaves at least four dead. At least four people were killed and five injured in a Russian attack on the town of Kamianske in central Ukraine, the regional military administration announced Saturday morning. "Three of the injured are in hospital. Among them is a 30-year-old woman who is in intensive care," wrote the head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional administration, Oleksandr Ganzha, on Telegram.
