Fire panic in a 5-storey building in Zeytinburnu: 2 people were affected by smoke

The fire broke out around 13.30 in Merkezefendi Mahallesi G/54. It happened on the street. Allegedly, a fire broke out as a result of the electric stove tipping over on the ground floor of the 5-storey building. The smoke spread in a short time and covered the entire building.

Upon notice, fire brigade, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. While firefighters intervened in the fire, those trapped in the building were evacuated.

Emine T., who lived in the apartment where the fire broke out, was evacuated by the fire brigade and medical teams and taken to the ambulance. A person who was on the top floor of the building and was affected by the smoke was rescued with a fireman's ladder.

2 PEOPLE WERE TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL

Two people affected by the smoke were taken to the hospital by ambulance after the first intervention of the medical teams at the scene. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire.

"HEATER HAS BEEN TOPPED"

Aysel Baygın, who said that she was the neighbor of the residents of the building where the fire broke out, said, "The children put a stove in to warm up. The heater overturned and burned. There were two children and their mother in the house. They became my neighbors. May God protect them from the worst."
