MELITOPOL, October 6. /TASS/. The authorities at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) have notified International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) experts stationed at the site about Ukrainian attacks on its laboratory and radioactive waste treatment building overnight into October 5, ZNPP Spokesperson Yevgenia Yashina told TASS.
"Yes, we have informed IAEA experts," she said.
Alexey Likhachev, director general of Russia’s Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation, said on October 5 that two ZNPP facilities - a laboratory building and a building where radioactive waste is processed - had been attacked by the Ukrainian army the previous night. The laboratory building is located 200 meters from the plant’s fourth and fifth power units. The ZNPP said later that there had been no casualties.
Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova pointed out that the Kiev regime was continuing to deliberately create threats of a serious nuclear accident by attacking the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant.
