1 life lost in the collapsed building in Zonguldak: 7 surrounding buildings were evacuated!

Yesterday at 17.50, a 3-storey building in Meşrutiyet Mahallesi Kadırga Caddesi Sütliyen Sokak, where a family was staying, next to the 3-storey unused house that collapsed due to the downpour last Sunday, collapsed.

Upon the notice of the surrounding people, fire brigade, AFAD, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. As a result of the work, Kenan Akçaharman was rescued from the rubble, while his older sister Türkan Özhan lost her life.

Akçaharman, who was reported to have been injured in his nose and leg, was taken to Zonguldak Atatürk State Hospital Orthopedics Service and received treatment. It was stated that Kenan Akçaharman's treatment continues. It was reported that Türkan Özhan will be buried in her hometown Bartın today after the autopsy.

30 PEOPLE WERE PLACED IN SECURE AREAS

After the collapse, security measures were taken in the area. Evacuation operations were carried out due to the risk of collapse in the surrounding buildings. In this context, 13 flats in 7 buildings were evacuated and 30 evacuated people were placed in safe areas.

DEMOLITION WILL BE MADE AFTER DAMAGE DETECTION

Images taken in the region in the early hours of the morning revealed the extent of the destruction. It was stated that damage assessment work would be carried out in the buildings. It was reported that after the damage assessment studies are completed, the necessary debris removal and demolition operations will be carried out by Zonguldak Municipality and the Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.
