War is blurring the Black Sea!
When the Russia-Ukraine conflict intensified in the Black Sea, two of the three Turkish-owned ships sank with UAV attacks, causing over 10 casualties. Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev announced that Togolese and Palau flagged ships were hit and crew losses were lost. Ukraine attributed the attacks to Russia, and Russia admitted that it targeted a Liberian-flagged tanker. Türkiye has put forward new initiatives to ensure the safety of commercial navigation in the Black Sea within the framework of the Montreux Convention.
