据报道，卢拉的医疗团队说，卢拉目前已开始接受头皮部位补充性的预防性浅层放射治疗。医疗团队补充称，卢拉的日常工作将不受影响。
外媒报道称，此次治疗措施是卢拉4月24日手术的一部分，旨在降低再次出现病变的风险。
据此前报道，卢拉4月24日接受小型外科手术，切除了头皮上的皮肤病变，并于同日出院。巴西媒体报道说，卢拉此次切除的是一处基底细胞癌病变，相关治疗过程顺利，未出现并发症。该病变通常与长期日晒有关，不会向身体其他部位扩散。
