Singer Xie Zhenting apologizes after being issued a warrant for missing court
Singer Xie Zhenting, who was issued a warrant by the Taipei District Court for failing to appear in court on the designated date, posted a lengthy message on Instagram early this morning to express his feelings. He apologized to the public and his friends and family, admitting that he had made many absurd mistakes in the past due to being immersed in grief and depression. He stated that he has now deeply reflected and emphasized that he will bravely bear any judicial outcome in the future.
Xie Zhenting has been embroiled in controversies in recent years. In 2024, after a conflict with his ex-girlfriend, he was accused of brandishing a knife and threatening her with private photos. The prosecutor indicted him on charges including violations of the Personal Data Protection Act and obstruction of freedom. As Xie Zhenting failed to appear in court after the case entered judicial proceedings, the Taipei District Court ruled to confiscate his 50,000 NTD bail and issued a warrant for his arrest according to the law. In response, he stated that after seeing the news, he realized he had occupied public resources and caused worry to many friends and family who care about him, and therefore he sincerely apologized to the public.
Xie Zhenting stated that he has gone to the police station to report and explain the situation. He will fully cooperate with any requests from judicial authorities to appear for questioning in the future and will honestly face all investigations and trial procedures. He frankly stated that he will fully respect whatever punishment or charges he is ultimately sentenced to, and "all the responsibilities I should bear, all the prices I should pay, I will not evade any of them."
Speaking about his state of mind in recent years, Xie Zhenting admitted that he had been trapped in grief and depression for a long time, which led him to make many wrong decisions. Good evening everyone, long time no see, it's Zhenting, I am safe.
Today, I saw news reports that I was reported by the media and issued a warrant for failing to report to the court at the designated time (not appearing in court on time). I am truly very sorry! I have occupied public resources and made my caring friends and family worry, I am truly very sorry.
Just now, I have voluntarily gone to the Daan District Police Station of the Taipei City Government and the Xinsheng South Road Police Station to report, but the police officers at both stations informed me that the police have not yet received the warrant order. I suspect that the court is still reviewing written materials or processing procedures, so the police suggested that I call the court tomorrow morning to inquire. If I need to appear for questioning, I will cooperate 100% with all judicial and police units and face the judiciary honestly.
The reason for not appearing in court immediately was that my registered address is still in Meishan Township, Chiayi County, not in the northern region. Therefore, I personally did not receive the subpoena or written notice. Of course, this is not an excuse. If the investigation units impose a penalty, I will absolutely accept it gladly. (I also advise all listeners who are involved in lawsuits to absolutely pay attention to all notices from the court or judicial and police units, and do not make such a low-level mistake like me.)
As for what kind of punishment or crime the judicial unit will sentence me to in the future, I will fully respect it and bravely face everything. In the past, due to excessive indulgence in grief and depression, I made too many absurd mistakes. I have deeply learned my lesson in these past few years.
