Gifu Police Seize Multiple Blades in Cake Shop Arson Murder Case

On the 7th, it was revealed through interviews with investigators that prefectural police confiscated multiple knives from inside the building in connection with an arson murder case in which a fire broke out at a cake shop called ``Sanrise'' in Motosu City, Gifu Prefecture, and the bodies of two men and women were found in the burnt remains. The man whose body was found died from blood loss due to being stabbed in the abdomen, and prefectural police are investigating the matter as they believe the seized items likely contain the murder weapon.

A total of 11 people were at the scene at the time, including the female store owner (66) and acquaintances, but it turns out that all of them were classmates from junior high school, except for the company executive (70), who was confirmed dead after being transported to the hospital. The group is said to have been meeting regularly, and prefectural police are investigating why company executives were present on the day of the incident. It is said that none of the 11 people, including company executives, consulted the police regarding any troubles.

The company executive was found in the driver's seat of a car parked in his own name in a parking lot outside the building, nearly naked. Prefectural police searched the company executive's home on the 6th, suspecting that he was involved in the incident based on testimony from people who were at the scene at the time.

Of the two people found in the burnt ruins, the woman died of acute carbon monoxide poisoning, and prefectural police are working to identify her. The store owner and a 65-year-old man from Mizuho City, the same prefecture, were also taken to the hospital, but their condition is unknown.
