Why It Matters
The 15th Berlin International Rail Transit Technology Expo is the world's leading rail transit technology exhibition, held every two years. As the world's leading rail transit equipment supplier, CRRC continues to demonstrate its technological innovation capabilities on the international stage.
China News Service, Berlin, September 22 (Reporter Ma Xiuxiu) A green-smart integrated digital subway train equipped with embodied intelligence technology was released in Berlin, Germany on the 22nd. CRRC said that this is the first time in the world that embodied intelligence technology has been applied to a subway train.

On the same day, the 15th Berlin International Rail Transit Technology Expo opened, and CRRC launched a green-smart integrated digital subway train on site. This model is developed based on the "VELLINK" urban rail vehicle platform. It deploys multi-source sensors throughout the vehicle and builds an autonomous perception system that can identify road conditions, determine abnormalities and provide early warning of faults in real time.
According to CRRC, compared with traditional urban rail vehicles, the vehicle has reduced its weight by about 18% through lightweight materials and multi-system integration, and its overall energy consumption has been reduced by more than 10%. The train's debut marks a new technological breakthrough for China's urban rail transit equipment.
Frank Speer, global senior vice president of TÜV Rheinland's railway division, said in an interview with reporters that they have long-term cooperation with Chinese companies and are deeply impressed by the development of Chinese partners around the world. Artificial intelligence is one of the important technical directions for the development of the rail transit industry. It is expected to speed up the research and development process and promote further integration between different systems. As artificial intelligence becomes more involved in vehicle perception and decision-making, safety assessment becomes more important.

CRRC also released two actual vehicles, the "VELFORCE" 2000kW hydrogen fuel cell hybrid locomotive and the MAGIX intelligent flat car, on the same day.
This hydrogen fuel cell hybrid locomotive uses hydrogen fuel cell dual-stack parallel technology. It only takes 15 to 20 minutes to refuel and has a hydrogen utilization rate of over 98%. It is the first locomotive of its type in the world to disclose its full life cycle environmental performance. It is mainly targeted at application scenarios such as railway green traction. MAGIX intelligent flat cars reduce energy consumption from the source through lightweight design, and are mainly targeted at in-station shunting and multimodal transport scenarios.
Abdul Karbat, head of the railway department of Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, said at the launch event that current innovations in the field of rail transit have extended from the vehicles themselves to digital technology, automation, artificial intelligence and sustainable development. The key to future industry development lies in the joint efforts of all parties to provide comprehensive solutions that can meet the changing needs of cities and passengers.
