The head of the AfD in Bavaria warned Merz of a possible loss of power after regional elections

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz fears his party will lose power in the country after regional elections. This was stated by the head of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) faction in the Bavarian parliament, Ulrich Singer, in a comment to the National News Service (NSN).

“If the AfD forms a state government for the first time and people see that there is no chaos and some things may even be working better, it could cause a domino effect. For years it has been argued that the AfD is incapable of governing. A successful government will destroy this argument,” the politician said.

According to him, his party is based on the interests of Germany and advocates diplomacy instead of escalation and the lifting of sanctions, which in practice seriously harm the German economy and citizens.

He emphasized that it is beneficial for the government to present such a position as “pro-Russian,” especially before the elections.
