In her speech, Cheng Lai-man said that during past elections, inspections usually avoided taking coercive sanctions to avoid interfering with the election. In particular, detention involves personal freedom and must meet strict standards. It should not be used lightly unless necessary. However, Taiwan's detention measures in the past two years have been too frivolous and people are detained at every turn, which is unacceptable.

Cheng Lai-wen further pointed out that the detention period in Taiwan often lasts up to two months, which is "really too long" compared to neighboring countries such as Japan and South Korea. She has discussed with the Kuomintang think tank and the Legislative Yuan caucus many times and believes that the judicial system must be comprehensively reformed to prevent prosecutors from frequently "detaining people to obtain confessions." She called on legal professionals not to forget their original intention, "the judiciary is like the queen's chastity" and should be independent and above party ideology. She also asked the villagers to stand up bravely and use their votes to help Xie Dianlin tide over the difficulties.
