WASHINGTON, September 16 - RIA Novosti. Meta* (banned in Russia as extremist) CEO Mark Zuckerberg has called independent reviews a best practice in developing artificial intelligence systems amid calls for the industry to slow down.

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei on September 12 called for slowing down the development of more powerful AI models due to security concerns, an idea supported by American billionaire Elon Musk, who owns xAI, and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. Against this background, Anthropic, OpenAI and Google are discussing the creation of a joint organization to develop industry standards, the Information portal reported, citing sources.

“Using independent evaluators and consultants is an industry best practice... Overall, it would be beneficial to create a broader, more diverse ecosystem of evaluators,” Zuckerberg wrote on social media X, adding that his company already uses this practice.

The CEO of Meta* noted that the interest in the safe development of AI primarily lies with the development companies themselves, since they bear full responsibility for failures in their models. In his opinion, the solution to the current debate about the limits of artificial intelligence lies in maintaining the right balance of power.
