The annual average concentration of PM2.5 dropped by 6.5 percentage points, the proportion of surface water with Class III quality increased by 19 percentage points, reaching 97.8%, and the proportion of blue and green spaces increased to 66.6%.

The Shanghai Municipal Government press conference on the "15th Five-Year Plan" series was held on the 10th. Lu Gang said that "ecological beauty" has become a beautiful business card of the demonstration area. The biodiversity in the demonstration area is increasingly rich, with 2,790 species of various biological species recorded, including 11 national first-level key protected species such as white cranes, curly pelicans, and black-billed gulls, and 50 national second-level key protected species such as water ferns, raccoon dogs, and cygnets.

"The demonstration area has a sea of ​​flowers in spring, fluorescent lights in summer, redwoods in autumn, and migratory birds in winter - there is no shortage of natural surprises all year round." Lu Gang pointed out that the good scenery has attracted a new economy. Cycling, camping, study, and bird watching are emerging in the demonstration area, and water sports are very popular.

According to reports, so far, the demonstration zone has launched a total of 25 institutional innovation results in the field of ecological and environmental protection, and 11 of them have been replicated and promoted nationwide. The demonstration zone took the lead in launching the "three unifications" working mechanism of ecological environment standards, monitoring, and law enforcement, strengthening the joint protection and joint management of key transboundary water bodies, building a cross-provincial biodiversity survey technology system, and realizing the coordinated use of cross-provincial ecological environment damage compensation funds.
