Infantino allowed the allocation of additional funds to national federations from the FIFA reserve fund

The President of the International Football Federation (FIFA), Gianni Infantino, has admitted the possibility of allocating additional funds to national member associations from the organization's reserve fund, which is expected to be $6 billion, The Athletic reports.

Earlier, Sky News reported that Infantino received a letter from the president of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), Alexander Ceferin, and the head of the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Football (CONCACAF), Victor Montagliani, demanding that an additional $10 million be allocated to each of the 211 national federations as part of the distribution of the organization's wealth.

According to the source, in a letter to the six presidents of continental confederations, Infantino said that the assessment would be presented to the FIFA council for consideration on October 15.

“I will not pre-determine a specific amount,” the letter said. “I will support the allocation of the maximum amount of additional funds that can be responsibly secured through FIFA's proper governance procedures, subject to fair distribution and transparent, auditable mechanisms.”
