Pittsburgh Penguins hockey player Andrei Kuzmenko changed his jersey number after his father died from a bear attack

Pittsburgh Penguins hockey player Andrei Kuzmenko, who lost his father because of a bear, changed his jersey number in the National Hockey League (NHL). This is reported on the tournament website.

Previously, Kuzmenko wore number 10, but after the death of his father he took the 62nd number. Alexander Kuzmenko was 62 years old.

Earlier on September 28, information appeared that the bear that killed Kuzmenko’s father had been eliminated. According to Artysh Salchak, head of the State Committee for Hunting and Hunting Supervision of Tuva, this was done by hunters.

Kuzmenko Sr. died after being attacked by a bear while fishing in Tuva on September 24. A 62-year-old man was fishing with friends on the Bolshoi Yenisei River. The hockey player's father was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but he could not be saved.

Andrey Kuzmenko is 30 years old. He has been playing in the NHL since 2022. During this time, in addition to Pittsburgh, he defended the colors of the Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames, Philadelphia Flyers and Los Angeles Kings.
