Russian tennis players Medvedev and Rublev reached the ATP 250 final in Hangzhou

Russian tennis players Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev reached the final of the ATP 250 tournament in Hangzhou. This was reported on the Sport Express website.

Medvedev beat compatriot Roman Safiullin in the semifinals with a score of 7:5, 6:4. Rublev defeated the Frenchman Kyrian Jacquet - 7:6 (7:0), 6:1.

This will be the seventh Russian final in the history of ATP tournaments. In head-to-head matches at the ATP level, Medvedev leads with a 7:2 advantage. The sixth racket of the world is sixth in the ATP rankings, Rublev is 24th.

Medvedev and Rublev have been friends throughout their careers. Rublev is the godfather of Medvedev's eldest daughter Alisa. The last Russian ATP tournament final took place in 2023 in Dubai, where Medvedev defeated Rublev with a score of 6:2, 6:2.
