Road accident on the Panfilovo-Plotnikovo highway: four people died, three were injured

On September 4, at the 23rd kilometer of the Panfilovo-Plotnikovo highway, an accident occurred involving Toyota Corona and VAZ 21112 cars.

As a result of the accident, both drivers and two passengers of the VAZ, including a three-year-old child, died; three more 15-year-old passengers of the VAZ received injuries of varying severity.

Based on the fact of the accident, a criminal case was initiated under Part 5 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, and an inspection of compliance with the requirements of the legislation on road safety and the rules for the transportation of minor passengers was organized.

The driver of a foreign car drove into oncoming traffic, where he collided with a domestic car, as a result of which four people were killed and three more were injured, according to the press services of the GUMVD, SUSK and the prosecutor's office of the Kemerovo region.

According to the supervisory authority, the accident occurred on September 4 at 22.30 (18.30 Moscow time Friday) on the 23rd kilometer of the Panfilovo-Plotnikovo highway.

“It has been previously established that the driver of a Toyota Corona drove into the lane intended for oncoming traffic, where he made a head-on collision with a VAZ 21112 car. As a result of the accident, both drivers and two passengers of the domestic car, including a small child, were killed, and three 15-year-old passengers of the VAZ received injuries of varying severity,” the prosecutor’s office reported.

According to the police headquarters, the 59-year-old driver of a foreign car crossed a solid marking line. The driver of the domestic car was a 25-year-old man. As the department clarified, among the dead was a three-year-old child.

“The Promyshlennovsky interdistrict investigative department of the Sustainable Criminal Investigation Department... in the Kemerovo region has opened a criminal case on this fact under Part 5 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic rules and operation of vehicles, resulting in the death of two or more persons through negligence),” the press service of the Sustainable Investigative Committee for the region reported.

Also, based on this fact, the supervisory agency organized an inspection of compliance with the requirements of the legislation on road safety and the rules for the transportation of minor passengers.
