國道公路警察局第三公路警察大隊說，小貨車2014年6月出廠，車上貨物是空鐵籠子，現場未發現駕駛，將通知車主到案說明，確切起火原因，仍待雲林縣消防局鑑定研判。警方呼籲用路人，平時應注意車輛機件保養，行車前務必檢查車輛狀況，避免車輛發生故障，維護自身及他人的行車安全。
